Welcome to the Seventh-day Adventist Abuse Response website. We are a team of professionals and lay people who are committed to addressing the problem of abuse in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This diverse group is dedicated and committed to ending domestic violence in the Adventist Church.
The director of the team is René Drumm, Ph.D., independent consultant and researcher. She has done extensive study of the prevalence and impact of abuse in the Adventist Church. Our mission is to help the church create a caring response to abuse through education and support.
Abuse can come in many forms. It can include physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Physical pain can often heal but the mental, emotional, and spiritual effects can last a lifetime. Our team is seeking to help educate people who come in contact with abuse victims on how to effectively help them. If we can help even one person who is suffering from domestic violence then our work has not been in vain. No one deserves to be abused.
